Connect a LinkedIn account
A sender is the LinkedIn account that visits, invites and messages your leads. There are two ways to connect one: one click with the Outvoy browser extension, from the browser you're already signed in to LinkedIn with, or your email and password on a hosted sign-in page. Your LinkedIn password never reaches Outvoy either way.
One click, with the extension
- Install the Outvoy extension in Chrome, Brave, Edge or Arc.
- Sign in to LinkedIn in that browser, with the account you want to connect.
- In the console, open Senders → Add sender → Connect LinkedIn and click Connect with one click.
The sender turns active a few seconds later, with the account's own name. If the extension isn't installed yet, the panel shows Add the Outvoy extension instead, and switches to one click as soon as it's installed.
What the extension reads, and when
- Only when you click “Connect with one click” on an Outvoy page, it reads one cookie: LinkedIn's session cookie,
li_at, plus your browser's user agent. - It sends them over HTTPS to Outvoy's API, which hands them to our LinkedIn provider to connect the account (with your IP address, so the connection comes from near you). Outvoy doesn't store them, and keeps them out of its logs.
- Outvoy pages can ask the extension whether you're signed in to LinkedIn; it answers yes or no, never the cookie.
- It reads no other cookies, no browsing history and no page content, and runs nothing on LinkedIn's pages.
Details are in the privacy policy.
Email and password
Use it in any browser, on mobile, or when LinkedIn asks to verify the sign-in. Click Use email and password instead: a secure page run by our LinkedIn provider opens, where you sign in and answer two-factor or security checks. Your password and codes go to LinkedIn through that page, never to Outvoy.
Connecting someone else's account
For a teammate's or a client's account, copy the link under Send this link to the account owner and send it to them. It opens a page that names your workspace and offers them the same two ways, from their own browser. The link works for 7 days, and the sender in your console turns active when they finish.
An agent gets the same link with POST /v1/senders/connect-link (MCP get_connect_link) and waits for the person with wait_for_connection.
Accounts that already do outreach
A new sender warms up over 14 days, starting at 30% of its limits. If the account already sends invitations and messages every day, tick This account already does outreach — skip the 14-day warm-up when you connect it (or turn warm-up off later on the sender's page). See account safety.
If it doesn't connect
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Not signed in to LinkedIn in this browser | Sign in at linkedin.com in the same browser, then click again. |
| LinkedIn didn't accept this browser's session | The session expired or was signed out elsewhere. Sign in to LinkedIn again, or use email and password. |
| LinkedIn wants to verify this sign-in | Use email and password: that page handles two-factor codes and security checks. |
| This LinkedIn account is already connected to Outvoy | Disconnect it from the other sender (or workspace) first, or sign in to a different account. |
Install the extension
“Outvoy for LinkedIn” is on its way to the Chrome Web Store; the console's Add the Outvoy extension button will open its page there. Until it's listed, ask us for early access. To load a package we send you:
- Unzip it into a folder you'll keep.
- Open
chrome://extensions(in Edge,edge://extensions; in Brave,brave://extensions) and turn on Developer mode. - Click Load unpacked and choose the folder.
- Pin the Outvoy icon if you like: its popup says whether you're signed in to LinkedIn.
Removing the extension changes nothing in Outvoy: connected senders stay connected. To end a connection, disconnect the sender in the console.
